Who We Are

LuxMobile has been merging fashion and mobile since 2004 with our team of tech-stylists. Our Crystal Icing brand pioneered the concept of infusing fashion and style into the world of mobile accessories, causing fashion taste makers and Hollywood elite to fixate on our unique collections, while sparking off the global Swarovski Crystal mobile accessory trend. In 2008, we ushered in the era of designer branded mobile accessories with a variety of brand collaborations starting with Ed Hardy and most recently with Lady Gaga, setting fashion as a standard for the mobile industry. Bringing style to tech has been our focus since day one!

Our story starts in 2004, in the pre-iPhones/pre-social networks ages, when founders Gina D’Ambra and Wasim Khaled met through chance and decided to launch an online accessory customization boutique. Crystal Icing gave people a place to send their mobile phones and have it turned into a one of kind Swarovski Crystallized work of art.

Pretty soon Crystal Icing had Iced out every cell phone imaginable and all kinds of other tech from laptops and iPods to television sets...but at our core our team was busy translating fashion for mobile!

Crystal Icing started a global phenomenon and made Swarovski crystal and sparkling accessories a standard in mobile accessory collections. While others followed suit, we expanded our team of designers, styling mobile devices for A-Listers like Britney Spears and Mariah xCarey and Corporations from Avon and Nintendo to Bloomberg and Elizabeth Arden. At $350-$10,000 though, Ice came at a price, and we wanted mobile fashion to be available for everyone.

In 2008, Gina and Wasim launched LuxMobile to extend mobile fashion to the masses. Back then, it was an uphill battle… retailers told us fashion and mobile didn’t play nice together and the rest of the industry was focusing on 100 shades of black!

LuxMobile kicked off by partnering with known brands to launch them into the mobile space. Our first collaboration was with tattoo artist, Don Ed Hardy at the peak of his brand’s popularity. During the launch of the iPhone 3G, we took Ed Hardy's mobile category into 30 countries and sold millions of cases and our success ushered in the era of licensed mobile accessories across the mobile industry.

When we started LuxMobile, collaborations with fashion brands and apparel was unheard of, and today it’s the norm and we are happy to have been the first to set the bar for the fusion of mobile and fashion in the industry. We created collaborations in the art world with the collective works of M.C. Escher creating a top seller at Best Buy and partnered globally with Lady Gaga to launch her mobile accessory collection.

In 2011 our design team was the first to win the CES Best of Show for an entire collection because the judges couldn't choose which of our cases they liked best! We were also awarded Best Verizon iPhone 4 Case by PC Mag and landed on the Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Companies ranking #19 in Consumer Products.

Today our team remains passionate as ever about the products that we create and what we desire more than anything is to bring products to market that allow people to express their personal style!
